BOLDLYU Magazine
The Catch the Stars Foundation has partnered with Darla Harmon’s BoldyU magazine.
BoldlyU is a free magazine for and by tweens to encourage them to be brave, be bold and be themselves. This is a positive resource that empowers youth to build confidence within themselves and help others. Over 15,000 copies are distributed throughout Indiana/Missouri on an annual basis.
Dreams are for Catching – Discovering the Star in You
The Catch the Stars Foundation, with the support of the Indiana Department of Education and in partnership with IBJ Book Publishing, distributed Dreams are for Catching – Discovering the Star in You, co-written by Tamika Catchings, to all 5th graders in the state of Indiana. This book/journal was a component of the state’s goals to facilitate reading and writing through the Read On, Indiana! initiative.
Back to School Celebration
The purpose of this program is to get local youth motivated and excited about the upcoming school year. Over 1,000 school supply-filled backpacks are given to students grades 1-12. The event also includes free food, entertainment and a community vendor fair.
Catch the Stars Reading Corners
This program is designed to encourage youth to read by providing books as well as a fun environment to read in. Our Catch the Stars Reading Corners are currently in Riley Children’s Hospital and Auntie Mame’s Child Development Center. Monthly reading events are held at these locations. Our hope is to continue building reading corners throughout the Indianapolis area.
Catch the Stars Scholar Athlete Dinner
This annual reception recognizes and honors Indianapolis area students’ who excel in academics, make a difference in the community and participate in athletics. Both a male and female scholar athlete will be awarded 4-year renewable $5,000 scholarships based on their essays and applications. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist scholar athletes with their higher educational goals. Over $150k in scholarships has been granted since the program’s inception.
